What is the State of Flow?

The ‘State of Flow’ is a psychological term referring to a state of optimal experience where one is fully immersed and focused on what they are doing, while also experiencing a sense of enjoyment.

Our aim is to help clients achieve “flow”, by creating a responsive, engaging, and overall positive therapy experience.

Our speech pathologists are Certified Practising Speech Pathologists and members of Speech Pathology Australia.

Elizabeth

Director and Speech Pathologist

Elizabeth graduated from Charlse Sturt University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Health Science (Speech Pathology). Since graduating, Elizabeth has worked with a broad range of communication and swallowing differences across the paediatric and adult populations.

In 2016 Elizabeth Graduated from Latrobe University with a Graduate Diploma of Education which has been an invaluable tool when working within schools and supporting the language, literacy and learning needs of children.

Elizabeth is a passionate and motivated speech pathologist who strongly believes that everyone should have access to effective communication as well as the right to communicate in a way that is authentic and meaningful to themselves.

Tamara

Speech Pathologist

Tamara graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Health Science (Speech Pathology). Tamara has extensive experience working with both adult and paediatric communication and swallowing disorders, and has worked in acute and rehabilitation hospitals, community health centres and home-based care programs.

Tamara is a busy mum, with three young children. She enjoys playing netball, running and spending time with her family.

Sarah

Speech Pathologist

Sarah graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology and has been working with Flow Speech Pathology since graduating.

Over the past 3 years Sarah has developed her skills working with the paediatric population, supporting children with a range of communication, and feeding differences.

Sarah is passionate about helping clients achieve their goals and reach their full potential. Sarah strives to incorporate the child’s interests into sessions ensuring an enjoyable and motivating experience.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys travelling, cooking, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Sarah will be on Maternity leave from June 2024.

Ruby

Speech Pathologist

Ruby graduated from Latrobe University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Applied Science and Masters in Speech Pathology. Ruby transitioned into her role as New Graduate Speech Pathologist seamlessly after working as an Allied Health Assistant while she studied.

Ruby brings an energetic, engaging, and adaptive approach to therapy when working with children with communication differences.

Ruby continues to develop her clinical skillset through regular supervision and ongoing professional development opportunities such as completing Hanen’s More Than Words program and the Sounds Write literacy programs.

Ruby has recently become a mother and is enjoying precious time with her young son.  Ruby is currently on maternity leave, returning in July 2024

Hayley

Occupational Therapist

Hayley Graduated from Latrobe University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Occupational Therapy Practise. Since graduating Hayley has worked with children in education, mental health and early intervention settings.

Hayley strives to provide families and children with the support they need to achieve their goals, increasing their independence to participate in all activities that are meaningful to them. Hayley enjoys creating relationships with all of her families whilst always trying to add a bit of fun into therapy sessions.

When not working, Hayley enjoys spending time with her two young sons and partner, exploring the outdoors, camping and fishing.

Julie Buha

Business Manager

Julie brings to Flow Speech Pathology over 30 years of experience working within healthcare. Julie’s background in the dental field includes extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of clinical, administrative, financial and compliance based on our ethical guidelines.

Julie’s skillset compliments our intervention team, providing ongoing support and care to her colleagues and Flow’s clients. Julie understands that seeking services can be a daunting process for families. One of Julies favourite, and important, components to her role is helping to guide, and ease this process.

When Julie isn’t working at Flow, she helps run her own small family business. Julie is an excellent cook who enjoys cooking delicious meals for her family and is always in search of a quality High-Tea.
